HOW IS A BREAST AUGMENTATION DIFFERENT THAN A BREAST LIFT?
A breast augmentation requires implants, and a breast lift does not. A breast lift removes excess skin and usually requires the relocation of the nipple. Oftentimes, a breast lift and breast augmentation are performed together.

SHOULD I GET SILICONE OR SALINE BREAST IMPLANTS?
In the silicone vs. saline debate, one is not inherently better than the other. It depends on the patient, their body, and their goals. Learn more during a consultation with one of our board-certified surgeons.

WHERE ARE BREAST IMPLANTS PLACED?
Breast implants are either above or below the chest muscles. The more popular option is below the muscle, but there are anatomical considerations to take into account.

CAN I GET A MAMMOGRAM AFTER BREAST AUGMENTATION?
Yes, but special techniques need to be used. Your OBGYN and their staff regularly see breast augmentation patients and you can still get a quality mammogram if you have breast implants

WHERE IS THE INCISION IN A BREAST AUGMENTATIONS SURGERY?
There are three common incisions including around the areola, in the armpit, and in the crease below the breast. A less common incision is via the bellybutton.

WILL PEOPLE KNOW I HAD BREAST AUGMENTATION SURGERY?
It depends. A reputable cosmetic surgeon will encourage patients to pursue a natural shape, and with skill and proper placement breast implants aren’t “obvious.” However, some patients want an unnaturally large breast augmentation. WILL I HAVE SCARS AFTER BREAST AUGMENTATION?
Yes, but they will be discreet and hardly noticeable. Reputable cosmetic surgeons are skilled at leaving minimal scarring and hiding them in creases.
